Alkemio 2024: A Year in Review

With 2024 all wrapped up, we start this 2025 by reflecting on a year filled with continuous platform improvements, community contributions, and all sorts of updates. From innovative tools to a refreshed user experience, 2024 has truly been a ride! So let’s take a closer look at the highlights of the past year.

Early 2024: Laying the Foundation for Success

• Collaboration Tools Search:
  Navigating your work on Alkemio was made easier. We upgraded search functionality to include tools like whiteboards, with the ability to recognize text inside boards. We made sure no idea gets lost.

• Streamlined Innovation Flow:
  Customization became simpler with drag-and-drop features, editable workflows, and tailored processes within Subspaces. Flexibility and ease of use for the user was the main idea behind this update.

• More Templates:
  Collaboration tools now come with preloaded templates! Users can create, save, and duplicate templates seamlessly across Subspaces.

Mid-2024: Smarter Spaces, Smarter AI

• The Introduction of Subspaces:
  We shifted from Challenges and Opportunities to Subspaces, a more structured and versatile way to organize teamwork and align communities with sub-communities.

• Meet VirtualContributors™:
  A game-changer for AI collaboration, we launched VirtualContributors™ (VCs) to the public. While a first version was launched with ChatGPT’s API, we have since then switched to France-based Mistral AI, which we feel provides a more “close-to-home” (but just as great) functionality. Users can still plug in any AI service they like and still use VirtualContributors™, but with the assurance that they can do so in a safe environment. Whether leveraging VCs with Mistral AI or other external options, this feature was created to help you build and share expertise with the help of AI, safely.

Late 2024: Elevating the User Experience

• Interactive Tutorials:
  New tutorials embedded in Spaces allow users to learn features or refresh skills with ease.

• Enhanced Event Visibility:
  Popular demand led to event visibility at the Space level, with support for all-day and multi-day scheduling.

• In-Platform Documentation:
  FAQs, tutorials, and tips were migrated into the platform for easier access. Simply click “Get Help” in the user menu to explore resources.

• Redesigned Dashboard:
  A calmer, customizable dashboard lets users toggle between simplified and detailed activity views to suit their needs.

• Subspace Templates and VirtualContributor™ Store:
  Templates simplified replication of Subspaces, while the VirtualContributor™ Store introduced profiles for selecting the ideal AI collaborator.

• iFrame Embedding:
  Users can now embed videos, interactive PDFs, and live documents directly into posts for more engaging content sharing.
