Communications Intern

Alkemio is looking for an intern in the area of communications for 3-5 days per week. We are a tech-for-good startup located in The Hague.

Your role

Working as a Communications Intern at Alkemio is dynamic. You’ll be a part of our diverse team, with different backgrounds and nationalities. This role is part of the Operations team, working online or at The Hague Tech offices. You’ll partner up with our Communications Lead to create our messages across various platforms and communicate with a broad variety of audiences that are situated all over Europe.

We are looking for someone who is curious, smart and willing to learn. The duration and intensity of the internship are up to discussion, ideally between 3 – 5 days for a six-month period.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support with ideation/brainstorming sessions and proactive communications campaigns and events
  • Support driving online engagement and activation on the platform
  • Write and design content for publication on external channels, including social media
  • Manage the content calendar and our social activation calendar
  • Help optimize our outreach by analyzing analytics on external channels
  • Analyze media coverage, compile supporting materials
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

What You’ll Need:

  • You are currently in the end of your studies
  • Proficient written and verbal English skills
  • Experience with digital platforms and knowledge of the latest communications trends
  • Experience with Hubspot, experience with design platforms, and editing videos is a plus
  • Pro-active and hands-on mentality
  • Creativity, an innovator and an ability to both think from first principles and think big
  • To travel to The Hague for 2 to 3 days a week

Notes:

  • EU/EER students: In order to be considered for this internship, you need to be registered as a student during the entire internship period. Formal documentation of this may be requested at any time.
  • Non-EU students in Dutch Universities: You need to be registered as a student and your university needs to sign the Nuffic Agreement. The internship needs to be a compulsory part of your studies (receive ECTS in turn). In case of non-compulsory internship, you need to have a letter from the university in which it states that your internship contributes to your personal development, what your learning goals are and what tasks you will undertake during your internship. The letter has to be signed and stamped by your university.
  • Non-EU students in non-Dutch Universities: You need to be registered as a student and the internship should be a compulsory part of your studies. Also, you need to be able to get the official approval of your university for this internship (Nuffic agreement).
